Sports medicine is the field concerned with physical fitness and the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries sustained in sports or exercise-related activities. This includes, but is not limited to, sprains, strains and other soft tissue injuries, stress fractures, knee and ankle injuries, shoulder impingement, tennis or “Little Leaguer’s” elbow. Osteoporosis is the lowering of bone density. Osteoporosis can increase the risk of bone fractures, especially in older adults. Dr. Bassett holds bone health clinics to help identify individuals at risk for osteoporosis.
